BioReference® has a network of laboratory collection centers that serves our unique brand entities, including GenPath. Each patient service center is designed from top to bottom with patient comfort in mind, and courteous and professional phlebotomists are dedicated to delivering a positive experience to each patient.

Are appointments necessary?

No, appointments are not necessary and service is available under a first come, first served basis.

What testing services do you offer?

Is fasting required?

With certain blood tests (mainly for blood glucose and lipids), you may be required to fast for up to eight hours before your blood draw. It is best to confirm with your provider if fasting is required for the tests that have been ordered.

Can I continue to take medications before a test?

Depending on the type of blood test you are having and what medication you take, your provider may recommend fasting. It is best to confirm with your provider if fasting is required for the tests that have been ordered. You should never stop taking prescribed medication unless advised to do so by your healthcare team.

Can I order my own tests?

A patient cannot order their own tests, and a provider’s requisition or lab script is required for all testing.

What are the hours of operation?

Is my insurance accepted?

BioReference® Health has contracts with all national carriers and hundreds of regional carriers to simplify billing and minimize out-of-network billing issues. Please click here for insurance coverage information.

What if I do not have insurance?

BioReference® offers programs for eligible patients who need financial assistance as well as those who do not have or elect not to use their insurance.

How can I obtain my test results?

Your test results will be sent to your ordering provider as soon as they are final. If you would like to review your test results, you can register for a HIPAA-compliant, secure patient portal account by going to https://www.bioreference.com/view-results. Results will appear in your account 5-10 business days after they are final.

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act gives patients the right to request a copy of test results. To obtain these results, you may write or call our Customer Service team at 1-800-229-5227, press 1.
