Dr. Jon R. Cohen has overall responsibility for BioReference Laboratories and GeneDx, in addition to serving as SVP for OPKO Health. With more than 30 years of healthcare experience, he is a seasoned strategic leader with a track record of growing existing business and developing new ventures. Dr. Cohen was recently awarded Crain’s New York Business 2020 Notable in Health Care.
Dr. Cohen is well recognized in the diagnostics industry having served for nearly a decade as one of the five executive officers for Quest Diagnostics. Previously, he served as Chief Policy Advisor for Governor David Paterson and for six years as Chief Medical Officer for Northwell Health. In 2010, he was named as one the nation’s top 50 most powerful physician executives by Modern Healthcare.
His 2012 TEDMED, “Why Don’t Patients Act Like Consumers?” was recently ranked the #1 TEDMED talk that every healthcare executive needs to watch. Dr. Cohen is a vascular surgeon, having completed his residency in surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center and vascular surgery fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed professional articles.
As President, Geoff Monk has operational responsibility for all commercial, service, laboratory and support functions at BioReference and GenPath. Geoff joined BioReference in 2018 as General Manager and was promoted to President in early 2019, in recognition of the significant progress made in achieving greater operational efficiency to position BioReference for profitable growth. Geoff was recently named a winner of CEO Today Magazine’s 2020 Healthcare Awards, which is devoted to celebrating the success and hard work of healthcare professionals around the world.
Geoff is a highly accomplished professional with international operational, business strategy and technical experience in healthcare and high volume and high technology industries. Previously, Geoff served as Vice President of Operations for the East Region at Quest Diagnostics, following his time as Managing Director for their New York/New Jersey region where he had full P&L responsibility. Earlier in his healthcare career he served as Vice President Global Engineering and Vice President Operations for New Jersey/Puerto Rico at Schering–Plough where he was responsible for the manufacturing of all Claritin, Nasonex and Asmanex brands. Prior to this he held positions of increasing responsibility for GlaxoWellcome including engineering and operations culminating in leading the Wellcome site at Dartford, UK.
He is an engineer by training and has led teams to create facilities in many countries including Japan, Singapore, Brazil and most European nations. His guiding principles are to follow the path of continuous improvement to operational excellence and that there is an optimal solution for every problem. He received his M.A. in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK and became a Chartered Engineer through the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
Dr. Weisberger is a board certified anatomic and clinical pathologist and recognized leader in hematopathology. He oversees all key laboratory operations and quality systems, and maintains BioReference Laboratories as an innovative, quality laboratory where patient care and laboratory safety come first. Dr. Weisberger strives to position BioReference as a leader in providing patient-centric, precision-based laboratory results and data analytics for best practice of patient care. Dr. James Weisberger has authored more than 40 publications as abstracts or peer-reviewed journal articles, and is an active educator at the New York Medical College, where he serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Pathology and Medicine. He is a Fellow and Member of the New Jersey House of Delegates for the College of American Pathology, and a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Pathology. He is also a member of the New Jersey Society of Pathology and Association for Molecular Pathology. Dr. Weisberger was Chief Resident in Pathology at Westchester Medical Center and holds both a B.S. and M.S. from Stanford University, and a M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
Craig Allen, SVP and Chief Operating Officer, leads all key operational aspects of the Company, including Logistics, Phlebotomy, Customer Service, Operations Excellence, Facilities, Procurement, and Lab Network Operations. Craig is passionate about driving continuous improvement in daily operations and helping BioReference make sound business decisions.
Craig has more than twenty-five years of experience in Operations and Process Excellence across manufacturing, distribution, and healthcare industries. Prior to joining BioReference in 2018, Craig held various leadership roles at Quest Diagnostics and General Electric. He has an exemplary record of building and developing high-performing teams that consistently surpass business goals and generate profitable growth in Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Sales environments. Craig’s teams deliver multi-million dollar productivity savings through waste elimination, process re-design and staffing optimization. He is highly skilled in operating a business by turning data analytics into practical business information, utilizing review mechanisms and creating a performance culture to deliver results. Craig is a Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
Craig received his M.B.A. at SUNY-Albany and holds a B.S. in Engineering from Clemson University.
Ellen Beausang leads the Oncology and COVID-19 segments for BioReference. This includes oncology marketing, franchise and commercial initiatives as well as driving overall strategy for COVID-19 testing. Ellen brings an extensive track record of leading commercial, marketing and franchise organizations to strategically bring up best in class products, services and solutions. As an industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, Ellen has held executive roles at leading pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies including Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Thermo Fisher Diagnostics and Quest Diagnostics. Ellen is passionate about building high performing teams and best in class portfolios through a strong vision that always is customer centric and focused.
Prior to joining BioReference, Ellen was the Executive Director for Oncology at Quest Diagnostics where she managed the go-to market strategy and product development.
Ellen holds a Master’s Degree from Seton Hall University and a dual B.S. in Sociology/Psychology.
Greg Cahill leads a diverse team that works to provide innovative HR solutions that create a culture and environment to promote employee engagement, maximize employee potential and establish BioReference as an employer of choice in the healthcare market. With leadership of Human Resources, Environment, Health & Safety, Facilities, and Security, supporting our employees from recruitment throughout their careers with us is always the priority. Greg has more than 25 years of experience in EHS and HR leadership roles with domestic and global scope, spanning a diversity of industries from Consumer Products to Life Sciences. He previously served as the Americas Head of HR at Kedrion Biopharma and the Global Head of HR at KEDPlasma; he has also held HR leadership roles at: Shionogi, PAR/Strativa, Verispan and Aventis. Greg holds a B.S. in Marketing from St. Peters University.
Natalie Cummins leads Marketing, Communications, Payer Relations and the Commercial Laboratory business as SVP and Chief Commercial Officer. As a seasoned strategic leader, Natalie brings 27 years of experience in healthcare working with multi-national companies, including Synarc, Quest Diagnostics, Oxford Health Plans and Amerigroup, developing calculated plans focused on growth, market access, marketing and communications programs.
Natalie previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for Genomind, where she oversaw marketing, US market access, billing operations, international development, business partnerships and new product launch.
Natalie holds a M.P.A. with an emphasis on health policy analysis from New York University and earned her B.S. in Business Administration of Health Services from Ithaca College.
David Evans leads Information Technology (IT) innovation, system development, data management and integrations at BioReference, and works as part of the Digital Team to manage key technology initiatives. He has a passion for understanding business and aligning IT services effectively while working at all levels of the organization.
David is a Healthcare IT veteran with over 20 years of experience in high growth, high volume, regulated environments, and notable roles held at Northwell Health, Quest Diagnostics, the American Red Cross and Merck Pharmaceuticals. His extensive experience ranges from strategic planning, business process reengineering, complex program management and driving topline growth to the routine operation of IT support including talent management, vendor management, business continuity planning and tool selection to control bottom line costs. His accomplishments include building teams and delivering mission critical IT solutions aligned with business objectives across several healthcare domains. He has also set strategies and architecture for business continuity, IoT (Internet of Thinks) and RPA (Robotic Process Automation) technologies – driving innovation, improving quality and reducing cost.
David has knowledge planning for and managing regulatory requirements including SOX, PCI, HIPAA, CFR Part 11 and DICAP. David holds a B.S. in Applied Physics from Stockton University of New Jersey.
Kevin Feeley is a Certified Public Accountant who is responsible for the overall management and oversight of the accounting and finance functions at BioReference. Prior to joining BioReference, Kevin served at US Controller RB, a UK-based consumer packaged goods company, and led SEC reporting at Bausch Health Companies. Kevin spent 12 years at KPMG with a focus in the pharmaceutical industry, having served large global public companies. He is a member of The American Institute of CPAs and holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from James Madison University.
Cindy Jacke leads Strategic Venture Services for BioReference. She is responsible for business development activities and complex deals, including strategic business solutions for hospitals, health systems, ACOs, IPAs, FQHCs, large medical groups, urgent care centers, and correction facilities. She has a goal to drive continuous company growth by encouraging a culture of teamwork, focus, and collaboration.
Cindy is a highly accomplished and results-driven Sales Executive with over 35 years of successful new business development, record-breaking performance, and sales leadership. She previously served as Vice President, Sales at Pathline Emerge Pathology Services, and held roles as Vice President, Business Development at Halfpenny Technologies, and Northeast Sales Director at Quest Diagnostics. Cindy brings agility and enthusiasm to the executive team and possesses innate leadership qualities, as demonstrated by her numerous professional accomplishments and awards.

Robert J. Rossi oversees BioReference compliance programs, and looks forward to continuous acceleration and growth of the laboratory with compliance always at the forefront. Rob is a seasoned laboratory industry veteran who has served in legal and compliance leadership roles throughout his career in both the private and public sectors for the past 27 years. He has served in various capacities, such as General Counsel, Senior Corporate Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for global and national clinical, pathology and toxicology independent clinical laboratories. Rob also served as Chief Deputy Attorney General, Director of Medicaid Fraud Unit for the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office. Rob is a member of the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Philadelphia Bar Association, Association of Corporate Counsel, Health Care Compliance Association, and American Health Lawyers Association. Rob is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt. He holds his J.D. from Temple Law School J.D. and B.A. in Criminal Justice from Temple University, and currently serves on the Temple University Alumni Association Board.
Richard Schwabacher is responsible for developing and implementing digital strategies through Customer Digital Solutions, Direct-to-Consumer Solutions, Telehealth and Patient Empowerment for BioReference and GenPath as Senior Vice President, Digital Health and Chief Digital Officer. Richard brings an extensive track record developing digital strategies, best-in-class products, services, and personalized solutions that offer superior digital consumer and physician experiences. He is adept in building high-performing teams and leading colleagues through a shared purpose and vision, and creating customer empowerment through human-centered design, technology, innovation and digital solutions.
Prior to joining BioReference, Richard served as the Vice President, Customer Experience & Engagement at Pfizer, where he developed enterprise-wide strategies for customer experience, applied human-centered design, and sought to improve health outcomes and patient experiences as part of Pfizer Digital. Richard also spent a large portion of his career at Quest Diagnostics as Executive Director, Consumer Technology, Digital Solutions and Head of Sports Diagnostics within Healthcare Technology and Analytics Solutions. Throughout his career, Richard has advocated for patients, including as a member of the Technical Expert Panel, Patient-Generated Health Data Project, a multi-year endeavor from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at the White House.
Richard holds an Executive M.P.H. from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and a B.S. in Political Science from Northeastern University.
Regina Stewart oversees Operational Management of BioReference Clinical Laboratory locations. This includes oversight of the main campus in Elmwood Park, New Jersey, and our location in Melbourne, Florida.
In her role, Regina’s primary objective is to deliver exceptional service and quality results to our clients and their patients, while providing a supportive and inspiring workplace for our team. Regina has a long-standing history in Laboratory Management, having most recently served as Vice President, Clinical Laboratory Operations for BioReference Clinical Laboratory and Senior Director, Clinical Laboratory Operations at Quest Diagnostics.
Regina is A.S.C.P. certified, holds a B.S. in Medical Technology and is a member of the Clinical Laboratory Management Association.
Jane Pine Wood is a licensed and practicing attorney who oversees the BioReference Legal Department, with a focus on legal and regulatory compliance, corporate governance and corporate ethics. Jane joined BioReference after serving nearly three decades in private practice at McDonald Hopkins, LLC. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, and has received the Association of Pathology Chairs’ Friends of Pathology Award, American Society of Clinical Pathology Patients’ Advocate Award, and is listed among Massachusetts Super Lawyers – Top 50 Female Lawyer Award. Jane is a member of the American Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, New Jersey Bar Association, and Ohio Bar. She holds her J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law and B.A. in History from Texas A&M University.
