Troponins (I, T, C) are components of cardiac and striated muscle with Troponins I and T being specific cardiomarkers. Troponin I will increase in 3-6 hours as a result of cardiac injury due to ischemia and infarction, and peak in 14-20 hours with a return to normal in 5-7 days
