IL-6 will be used to aid in the study of inflammatory disease, elevated IL-6 levels have been reported to be associated with a variety of diseases, including autoimmune diseases such as arthritis and Castleman’s disease, mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, and malignancies such as plasmacytomas, myelomas, lymphomas and leukemias, and ovarian cancers.
