Clinical Utility:
Anti Jo-1 antibodies in conjunction with clinical findings and other laboratory tests, serve as an aid in the diagnosis of idiopathic inflammatory myopathy. According to the literature, anti Jo1 antibodies have been detected in 12-20% of patients with myositis. Those antibodies can be found in patients with polymyositis, dermatomyositis or myositis overlap syndromes.
