Clinical Utility:
FLT3 is a tyrosine kinase receptor expressed on hematopoietic progenitor cells and is important in stem cell survival and differentiation. FLT3 mutation is a poor prognostic marker in AML and has therapeutic utility as a potential target for inhibitor therapy.
