The Future is Lab: Celebrating the 49th Annual Lab Week

April 14 to April 20, 2024

The Future Is Lab

Every single day, the work of laboratory professionals and pathologists is instrumental in healthcare and the delivery of patient care. Their diagnostic testing, performed in the lab, is a crucial part of the healthcare process. The 49th Annual Lab Week is sponsored by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS). This initiative was established in 1975 and born out of a collaborative effort by 17 national medical organizations, all to enhance the public’s understanding of the invaluable work that clinical laboratory personnel provide.

2024’s theme for Lab Week is: The Future Is Lab, and from patient advocacy to navigating the unique challenges (e.g., COVID-19 pandemic), laboratory professionals act as an invaluable resource and assets that make healthcare delivery possible. As healthcare science and technology have advanced over the decades, laboratory professionals continue to protect our future by skillfully adapting to evolving patient care and public health challenges.

Lab Heroes and Patient Advocates

At BioReference®, our employees are acknowledged throughout the year for their professional accomplishments, contributions to patient care, and roles in the healthcare delivery continuum. During Lab Week, we take this opportunity to spotlight our team of laboratory professionals and their dedication to the work they perform inside the lab.

Many reputable healthcare and industry organizations are responsible for organizing Lab Week, which aims to bring attention to laboratory professionals’ vital role and encourage communities, families, friends, and colleagues to celebrate their contributions.
